ABOUT CYNTHIA DEMPSEY:
"I create art because I see what God has done. It is as necessary as the blood in my veins. It identifies and substantiates my existence. It is my Hallelujah."
That statement would sum up my painting philosophy.
I am an oil artist from Georgia. I consider myself a ruralist as most of my paintings are landscapes. I do commission work of old farms, buildings, still lifes of family treasures. etc. Please contact me via email anytime! I look forward to creating something unique for you or perhaps helping you choose one of my paintings.
I have exhibited at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville, the Mable House in Cobb, the Gadsden Museum of Art in Gadsden, Alabama and the Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville and also the Georgia National Fair in Perry. I am delighted to have been recently accepted as an associate member of the Oil Painters of America. I do offer prints on some of my paintings.
CYNTHIA DEMPSEY’S WORK:
I place an image of Jesus within all of my paintings as I feel that God is indeed everywhere. Seeking the image provides interaction with the painting on a different level and encourages people to look a little deeper.
I am a "self taught" artist. I have been seriously painting for about 7 years. My style of painting has been greatly influenced by the Hudson River School of artists such as Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Cole. My favorite contemporary artists are Bill Davidson, Amanda Lovette and Buck McCain. I have taken classes from these artists and they are tops in their genre!
