ABOUT LAMYA DEEB:
Born in the U.S., Lamya spent much of her childhood living in Beirut, Lebanon, witnessing that country's civil war during her teenage years. Her family traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East, bringing her into contact with the great art and antiquities of those places.
As a child, Lamya spent countless hours drawing and painting. She went on to study Fine Art at Colorado State University, then worked as a graphic designer and illustrator in the Boulder-Longmont area. Lamya lives with her husband, two children, three cats and dog in a community known as "Gunbarrel", situated between Boulder and Longmont, Colorado.
Having always been drawn to nature for solace and inspiration, Lamya's focus shifted in 2006 to landscape painting. She studied primarily with landscape artist Jake Gaedtke, as well as a number of other distinguished artists in the genre. Historical and contemporary influences include many, but most inspiring to her have been George Inness, John Constable and Vincent Van Gogh.
