ABOUT STEPHANIE ANN DENNY:
I love paint and color -- I always have, from as early as I can remember. When I was very little, I loved all things red. I had red cowgirl boots, and I so badly wanted the pair of red shoes worn by a mouse in my story book. I loved crayons, but when I got to kindergarten and tried finger paints, I was hooked! I remember the smell and feel of those first finger paints -- I couldn't wait to get my hands in them.
I grew up in Burbank, California, but I've lived in lived in Mesa, Arizona for the past 22 years. My given name is Stephanie, but I was was nicknamed "Stevie" by my dad the day I was born.
The pursuit of art was not encouraged during my school years, so I was well into adulthood when I began to paint; but I used to go to the library and get books on horses to practice drawing them. When I was 13, I saved my baby-sitting money to buy the Jon Gnagy Drawing Kit I saw on TV. My journey with painting began in decorative art and watercolor; and for the past 20 years I've painted in oil.
